Do the curtains match the Moroccan inspired carpet? This statement makes me chuckle. My husband has been known to ask this question when he sees a woman who obviously colours her hair. And…..I will just leave it at that.
My pre-decorating carpet was a simple beige sisal area rug with a brown edging on it. I wanted to make more of a statement and needed something special. I purchased this great indoor/outdoor nylon carpet online from Rugs USA at a really great price. The 8′ x 10′ size of the rug covered the majority of the room.
I also wanted the curtains to be light and bright. The pre-decorating curtains I had up were purchased from Bouclair here in Southern Ontario and they were far too dark and heavy looking for the look I wanted to achieve. I decided to construct my own. Here is the link to that tutorial if you want to follow my easy directions for sewing your own French Pinch Pleat Curtains.
The pattern on the fabric and carpet was very geometric and a perfect compliment to one another. The colours I’ve chosen are crisp linen, blues, and whites. I love the way this room is coming together!!
Just a couple of other things I wanted to mention. First, the giant fern. I don’t have much luck with them unless I grow them outside. This one was lucky, it had plenty of time to grow quite large during this past summer season…. I’ll see how long it lives indoors…I thought I would also give you a sneak peek at my desk legs. I’ll talk a little bit more about this awesome desk when I have the room completed.

Hi Christina!!
Thanks! I too really love this rug.
I live in the Niagara Region – and my husband and I have a “mailbox” service that we pick up mailed items at called US Address (http://www.usaddressinc.com/services.html) Just 5 dollars to pick up the item and bring across the border yourself. We have saved a lot doing it this way in shipping and duties.
