Many of you may remember that I made a Burlap Wreath last week from this beautiful string of French graphic fabric and burlap. I’ve been so inspired by the weather and what I’ve been seeing on my favourite blogs that I thought I’d make something “springy” like making this Easter Banner to share from items that I already have.
I started by cutting my burlap fabric into triangles. I doubled up the fabric so I had another layer of burlap behind the top layer for contrast.
I used a set of stencils that I had purchased online to cut out the word “EASTER”.
I had this great bright pink patterned paper to cut out each letter for the banner.
I then used Modge Pod to glue the paper letters to the front of the triangles, centering them the best I could. I like to use my fingers to get right in there.
I then painted the edges of the backing triangle (to give it more dimension when the front is applied) in Old White by Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
After it was all dry I glued the two layers together with a slight offset to reveal the white shadowed layer.
I then wanted to keep it simple and just add some colourful paperclips and jute string to attach it all together.
And Voila! My Easter Banner is ready to be hung!!
