I found this small Duncan Phyfe buffet in Port Dalhousie from a very nice couple that was downsizing. The gentleman was so concerned that it wasn’t going to fit in the back of our SUV that he almost insisted that we not take it out of the house. We, of course, knew it was going to be fine, albeit a bit heavy it fit just fine. It was made by Knechtel Furniture company and was in really good shape and true to mahogany form, very heavy for a smaller piece.
The small Duncan Phyfe buffet received a refinishing, sanding and then an all in one stain and finish in a Minwax black/ebony with a bit of a sheen. The rest of the cabinet received Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in the French Linen colour, distressed and then waxed for protection and durability. What I love about this colour is the fact that it goes with so many different decor colours. The hardware received a spraying with my favourite antique bronze.
It measures 50″ W x 18″D x 33 1/2″H.
