A lovely young lady named Amy dropped off this really cute round pedestal coffee table. When she dropped it off she knew exactly what she wanted. Greige base with a whitewash to achieve a coastal feel in her living room. I prepared a few different colour boards with various greys and of course the whitewash.
She decided on French Linen by Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (which to me is the perfect greige colour). That’s the one on the bottom. She just wanted a bit more white (which was the ASCP Old White-watered down). As you can see on the back of the board I sealed in the French Linen with ASCP clear soft wax and then used a barely wet chip brush with Old White on it to the waxed surface.
I worked in small long sections and brushed on and with a clean cloth wiped off (or in)…. giving it a “washed” look. As the last step, I used a NO VOC soy based topcoat by Artisan Enhancements to seal in all this goodness and provide added protection and durability.
Amy is planning a party this weekend and was so excited to show it off to her guests.
I hope you enjoy your, oh so cute, whitewashed round table, Amy!
