I found another set of vintage French provincial night tables!!! This time from my Niagara Falls furniture connection Lesley just off of McLeod and “Kalar”. These are the classic end/night tables made by fine furniture maker of Stratford, Ontario, Andrew Malcolm.
This time I decided to paint them in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in a colour called Old White. After distressing and waxing with ASCP Clear soft wax I applied General Finishes Van Dyke Brown glaze to achieve this beautiful aged patina. I don’t work with glaze very often but when I do I seem to have really good results and the appearance I’m looking to achieve.
I also finished the tops with General Finishes Java Gel Stain… perfect as usual. I just love the way this product goes on!!! 2-3 coats of the stain and then Minwax Wipe On Polyurethane.
These vintage night tables measure: 22″ W x 15″ D x 26″ H.
