This lovely small oak buffet was found on “Orchard” Street in Niagara Falls from a very pretty lady and her husband with an English accent. She said it was her grandmothers and it had been in her family for many many years.
“Orchard” is a perfect size for any smaller space as it is not long but has a pronounced height to it making it appear larger. It measures 48″W x 21″D x 38″H. The perfect size for any condo or small eating area.
The small oak buffet was first stripped, sanded and then stained with my favourite General Finishes Java Gel Stain. The oak grain can still be seen through the top finish. The rest of the cabinet was shellacked and then painted with ASCP Old White, distressed and the waxed for the deepness of colour and protection.
I started this piece before the weekend and it has taken me this long to complete as the weather outside in almost unbearable…. I really do need to move my space into the air conditioning. I’ve found other things to do (paint chairs) that are easily transported into the house.
Well there we have it…. the lovely small oak buffet refinished and painted … to perfection.
