What an amazing transformation for this painted porch dining table set for my client’s Barb and Ian. I finished a beautiful hutch a couple of weeks ago for them to go on their new porch overlooking Lake Erie. Barbara showed me some amazing photos of their new home with picture windows (floor to ceiling) looking out onto the lake. It literally felt like you were on the water. I can’t wait to see it all set up.
As the hutch, I used General Finishes Antique White Milk Paint which is actually an acrylic based paint (perfect for the outdoors). After 3 good coats of paint and some touch up fourth coat in spots, I distressed the edges to give it a slightly worn look. I then applied an exterior water based polyacrylic product also by General Finishes called Exterior 450. This will protect it for many years to come.
The chairs were given a lovely fabric recovering with this chevron blue, white and grey fabric!! So fresh and clean looking…. that blue will match the water for sure!!
I hope you enjoy your newly updated hutch and dining set Barbara and Ian. I can see it will be a perfect setting for new family memories on your lakeside porch!
