I have to say I’ve had this Painted French Provincial Dining Hutch sitting around for longer than I’d like to admit. My plan was to finish it up almost two years ago. But instead just got buried behind more and more “stuff”. I originally purchased this hutch as a set from a gentleman in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. He had sold an investment property in town and this set was located at that house in NOTL.
I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White to paint the majority of the hutch and buffet. I distressed all the lovely edges to highlight all the extraordinary details. A good coat of clear wax also by Annie Sloan was applied for added protection and durability.
The top of the buffet was stripped and sanded to accept a couple of coats of a combination of Java and Antique Walnut Gel stain by General Finishes. A coat of Gel Topcoat also from General Finishes was used to seal the top of the buffet. Lastly, the hardware received a spray of Oil Rubbed Bronze by Rustoleum. Perfect!
I think I’ll keep this one (at least for awhile).
