As of late I’ve had this fascination with Mora Clock s. If you don’t know what they are here is a link to some historical information about Mora Clocks. If you ever have the opportunity to come across one or even purchase one you would be very fortunate and I would be so envious!!
I almost purchased a reproduction Mora Clock when I came across this lovely quartz large faced, curvy, and just a bit ornate clock. I wanted it to look aged so I started layering my colours. I first painted it ASCP Old White. Next I used ASCP Paris Gray. I then distressed our Mora Clock – but only lightly. After that I mixed ASCP Clear soft wax and Old White paint to achieve a 1:1 ratio of wax to paint. I then applied the white wax. What an amazing look!!! I will definitely use coloured waxes more often.
After the waxing I applied ASCP Florence to give it even more dimension and a deeper patina. And for the finishing touch I applied some gold gilding wax to play off of the pendulum and gold chains inside the clock mechanism.
